Mavs select Arizona forward Dalen Terry

The Dallas Mavericks traded down two spots in the 2023 NBA Draft, sending the 10th overall pick to the San Antonio Spurs for the 12th overall pick. The Mavericks then selected Arizona forward Dalen Terry with the 12th pick.

Terry is a 6'7" forward who averaged 14.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game for the Wildcats last season. He is a versatile player who can play both forward positions and is known for his defense and athleticism.

The Mavericks were reportedly interested in trading up to select Terry, but were unable to do so. They ultimately decided to trade down and select Terry at 12th overall.

Terry is the second player the Mavericks have selected in the 2023 NBA Draft. They previously selected Utah Valley center Fardaws Aimaq with the 18th overall pick.
