The May 3rd Tornado

On May 3, a particularly destructive tornado struck the Oklahoma City suburbs, including the towns of Bridge Creek and Moore. Known as the May 3 Bridge Creek-Moore tornado, this EF5 twister caused immense damage and claimed the lives of 36 individuals. It ranks among the deadliest tornadoes in Oklahoma history.

Tragic Toll

In total, the 1999 Oklahoma tornado outbreak claimed the lives of 40 people, with an additional 675 sustaining injuries. These tornadoes serve as a stark reminder of the devastating impact that severe weather can have on communities.
